Why Sovereign City Exists.

Freedom rarely disappears overnight.

More often, it fades gradually—one policy, one regulation, one digital system at a time.

Over the past several years, I've watched that process accelerate across much of the Western world.

The expansion of digital surveillance, online censorship, financial oversight, digital identity initiatives, and the steady erosion of personal privacy have raised an increasingly important question:

For many people, these developments remain abstract policy discussions.

For me, they became personal.

Alongside my wife and family, I made the decision to leave the United Kingdom and relocate to Mexico—not because Mexico is perfect, and not because I was running away from anything—but because I wanted greater optionality, greater freedom, and the opportunity to build a life more aligned with my own values.

That decision changed the direction of my life.

It set me on a journey into the worlds of privacy, digital sovereignty, self-custody, and decentralized technology.

Over the years, I've attended conferences across the privacy and cryptocurrency space, immersed myself in emerging technologies, tested countless tools, and spent hundreds of hours researching everything from GrapheneOS and encrypted communications to Monero, self-custody, digital identity systems, and the future of financial sovereignty.

Along the way, I realised something.

The real challenge wasn't finding information.

It was finding clarity.

The answers existed—but they were scattered across podcasts, conference talks, research papers, forums, X threads, YouTube videos, and technical documentation.

Finding genuinely useful information often meant spending dozens of hours piecing together fragments from dozens of different places.

Those questions deserve better answers than scattered bookmarks and social media algorithms.

That's why I created Sovereign City.
